Early in the summer a very lovely French lady popped in to Butterslip and fell madly in love with our red umbrellas.  We had a lovely chat about the importance of nice umbrellas, weddings in France and how even though you hope its gonna be sunny, you know a nice umbrella could never go astray …

So we were hugely delighted to get these gorgeous photos of the lovely bride and groom on a stroll in Paris… sigh.

Its official -  after a break of almost two years the worlds most lovable accessories are back, and boy are we happy to see them!  Johnny Loves Rosie made their name with their signature silk corsage flowers and super sparkly hair clips, since much imitated but never quite equalled.

We were super excited unpacking the new Autumn/Winter collection here today.  A little bit vintage, a little bit funky and totally fantastic, its classic JLR as we know and love it!  Oh decisions…

After a complete sell out on the summer collection, we are eagerly awaiting delivery of the new Pink Lining range.  Our favourite Yummy Mummy is back in three fabulously lovable new prints, want, want and want!  We’ve also added a super new satchel, for those ready to downsize their changing bag this is a more compact but equally brilliant option – perfect for over the shoulder when you’re out and about.

Due date: Early August.  We can’t wait!

Several sunny days strung together, could it be – gasp! a Summer?!  Caught between not wanting to jinx it, but bursting to celebrate it, have decided to go with the latter and celebrate all things summery and lovely…

Now, I know flip flops have taken a bit of a beating in the press recently, something about unpleasant noises in the office – spoilsports!  One of the ultimate summer freedoms is to wake up, slip into a flip flop and off you well, flip flop!  No socks, tights, boots, galoshes, mackintoshes, umbrellas – just a flip flop (or two) and a frock, what could be easier?

All last week we watched cherry blossoms blowing up the street.  From a single tree by canal square, and helped along by a willing and able wind, the whole of Rose Inn Street was strewn with pretty pink petals.  Looking up, I saw a cloud of pink drifting dreamily past the window… we'll be sweeping them up for days yet, the prettiest litter.

Finally!  After what seemed like an eternal wait we have just received our new delivery of E Coudray perfumes, creams and goodies!  While I confess I'm not usually much of a perfume girl, these beautiful, subtle and very feminine fragrances won me over some years ago and I now love my daily spritz!

Daisy Roots shoes are super popular here at Butterslip and we love selling them. They are a really lovey and useful product, made by people that genuinely care about what they do.  We have been stocking Daisy Roots here at Butterslip for over two years now and have found them to be a lovely bunch of people to deal with.

Why put shoes on at all?  Well, for one thing they keep kiddies feet nice and warm.  Because the shoes are designed to stay on, that means the socks underneath have to stay put too and little feet stay nice and snug.  Bad news for babies who like to pull things off their feet, and good news for parents sick of finding odd socks!

At the 6-12 month stage many earnest crawlers start to get up on their feet and take their first tottering steps.
